Newport, Rhode Island
This Newport colonial farmhouse condo had unmatched views of the East Bay and the iconic Pell Bridge, yet the interiors didn’t live up to the charm of its location. The kitchen was stuck in the 1980s, and the palette throughout the home felt dated and flat, masking the property’s potential. Our vision was to strike a balance between the elegance of Newport’s Gilded Age and the relaxed coastal identity of New England. Each main space needed to carry its own distinct character—like sampling different wines—while still feeling connected to the home’s setting.
The remodel brought the home to life with bold palettes and carefully layered details. In the living room and kitchen, sage green walls framed a cozy fireplace and custom gold-trimmed television, while a crisp white sofa and burnt-orange chairs added warmth and vibrancy. The kitchen now rises with shaker cabinets that stretch to the ceiling, paired with a gold-dusted quartz countertop and a shimmering backsplash of green, white, and blue glass tile that catches the light like the bay outside. Downstairs, a more grounded retreat emerged with walnut furniture and sienna tones, while the upstairs bedroom became a soft mauve sanctuary, its furnishings oriented toward the window framing the Pell Bridge—transforming the view into part of the room itself. Together, these spaces create a home that feels rooted in Newport’s history yet alive with new energy and elegance.
